Shish Taouk is a traditional Middle Eastern marinated chicken dish; it is popular in turkey but can also be found in Syria and Lebanon. The cooking method differs from one country to another, but the basis is always the same.
The key ingredient in this dish is the marinade; the yogurt and the freshly squeezed lemon juice add a great flavor to the chicken while also tenderizing it. To boost the deliciousness of this meal, you can serve it with rice bowls or with tortillas.
Note that this recipe is very flexible. You can replace the yogurt with low-fat plain yogurt or plain Greek yogurt, which won’t change the flavor.

Whisk together the lemon juice, yogurt, oil, garlic, tomato paste, oregano, allspice, cinnamon, cardamom, oregano, pepper, and salt in a large bowl.
Add the chicken and toss it through the mixture to ensure that all pieces are well coated.
Transfer to a large resealable plastic bag and place in the refrigerator for 4 hours.
While you are threading the chicken, onions, and bell pepper onto skewers, preheat your barbecue, so it has reached the required temperature to cook these chicken kebabs.
Cook the chicken over medium to high heat for 5 minutes on each side. The meat's exterior should be golden in color, while white inside.
Once they have been cooked through properly, remove kebabs from heat, then sprinkle over some of the flat-leaf parsley before serving.
