Ingredients

Adjust Servings:
4 Pork chops bone in, about 3/4-inch thick
Salt
1/2 teaspoon Pepper
3 tablespoons Olive oil
1/3 cup chopped Onion or shallots
8 ounces sliced Mushrooms
1/2 cup White wine
1/4 teaspoon Additional salt
1/3 cup Half and half low-fat
1/2 cup chopped Mixed herbs

    An elegant dish of chicken and mushroom is the perfect option to serve on a special occasion instead of hosting bland and dry chicken. It is hearty and flavorful and could definitely be saved for the whole week without losing its delicious taste.

    Season the chops with salt and pepper and heat 1 tablespoon of the oil in a large cast-iron skillet to medium-high heat, then lower to medium.

    Cook the pork chops for 10 minutes until done while turning once.

    When cooked, place on a plate and cover with aluminum foil to keep warm.

    Put the remaining spoon of oil in the pan, add the onions and mushrooms.

    Cook until they are browned for 5 minutes.

    Add the wine and 1/4 teaspoon of salt; cook for 3 minutes or until most of the liquid is evaporated.

    Add the herb mixture and cook for 2 more minutes.

    Serve with chops with the sauce spooned over them or offered on the side.
