Grilled steak with broccoli rabe, covered with teriyaki sauce.

Cuisine:

The steak's sweet teriyaki glaze matches the pleasant bitterness of the broccoli rabe. Get the most petite and most tender broccolis you can find so that the final result doesn't get too bitter.

The cuisine of Japan is based on rice with miso soup and a multitude of sauces, such as soy sauce and teriyaki sauce. Side dishes often consist of fish, pickled vegetables, and vegetables cooked in broth. Seafood is ubiquitous, usually grilled, but mainly eaten raw as sashimi or in sushi.

Take it off the heat and set it aside.

    4

    5
    Done

Sprinkle it with sesame oil, and season the steak with some salt and pepper based on personal preference.

    6

For a charcoal or gas grill, place steaks, broccoli, and onions on the grill directly over medium heat.

    7

Cover and let it cook for 10 to 12 minutes over medium-rare heat (145°F).

    8

Grill broccoli for 4 minutes and the onions for 6 to 8 minutes or until tender, turning once halfway through cooking time.
