Combine the yeast, water, and sugar in a large bowl, and stir well to combine. Set aside for minutes until it's foamy.

    2
    Done

Add the salt, olive oil, and 1⁄2 cups of flour to the yeast mixture, mix well to thoroughly combine.

    3
    Done

Add 1 cup of the remaining flour, mix well with your hands and slowly incorporate the flour.

    4
    Done

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured work surface for 5 to 7 minutes to form a smooth and elastic dough.

    5
    Done

Oil a 2- or 3- quart bowl and put the dough in it. Make sure to turn the dough to coat it with oil.

    6
    Done

Cover the bowl and let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size (this will usually take at least 1 hour).

    7

Meanwhile, preheat a grill to medium oil the grate with olive oil.

    8

Prepare a clean work surface and dust some flour on it. Divide the dough in half and roll each portion of dough out to form a 12- inch round.

    9
    Done

Transfer one of the dough rounds to a pizza peel coated with cornmeal. Carefully slide the dough onto the hot grill and cook for 3 minutes until grill marks slightly appear and the dough is cooked on one side.

    10

Now, turn the dough over and quickly spread half of the pesto over the dough in a thin, even layer, so it melts easily.

    14
