Ingredients

Adjust Servings:
1 teaspoon Active dry yeast
1/2 teaspoon sugar White sugar
1/2 cup warm Water (about 110° F)
1/4 cups All-purpose flour plus more as needed
1/2 teaspoon Salt
2 tablespoons minced Green onion white and green parts
2 tablespoons Butter melted and kept warm
4 tablespoons Extra-virgin olive oil

Grilled green onion on flatbread

    These grilled onion slices are easy to prepare. All you need is a bit of dough, onions and sage for an inviting smell and a savory taste. This dish can be served with soup or salad for a balanced and delicious meal.

    In a glass measuring cup, combine the yeast and the sugar. Add the water and stir well. Set aside until foamy for about 5 minutes.

    Mix the flour and salt into a large bowl. Add the green onions and toss to coat. Pour the yeast mixture into the center.

    Add warm butter and 2 tablespoons of olive oil into the well.

    Mix with your fingers until a smooth, just slightly sticky dough forms, working in a small amount of additional flour if needed.

    Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead it for 3 minutes.

    Oil a small bowl and place the dough in the bowl

    Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a damp kitchen towel, and let it rest for one hour in a warm, draft-free place until the dough has doubled in size,

    Preheat a grill to high and oil the grate.

    Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces.

    On a floured surface, use a lightly floured rolling pin, gently roll each portion of dough into a round that is 5 or 6 inches in diameter.

    Put the rounds of dough to the prepared grill and cook each side for 3 minutes until slightly puffed and lightly golden,

    Place the flatbreads on a platter and drizzle them with t olive oil.

    Sprinkle lightly with Original Essence to taste and serve while hot.
