Steps
Done | You need to trim the artichokes with a thin knife, slice stems flat to bottoms, and cut thorny tips from leaves by cutting off the top inch from the tapered end. Cut off the remaining tips with scissors. |
Done | Squeeze one lemon and pour its juice into a large bowl; add artichokes and stir to coat cut surfaces with lemon; you need to add enough cold water to cover. Place plate on the top to weigh down artichokes so that they stay covered with water; leave it for 10 minutes. |
Done | Pick the artichokes from the lemon water—layout four 12-inch squares of foil. |
Done | Add 1 teaspoon of garlic to the center of each square, and then top it with an artichoke. Spread the leaves of the artichoke gently. |
Done | Spoon 2 teaspoons of garlic between the leaves of each artichoke. |
Done | Pour a tablespoon of oil over each artichoke and sprinkle them liberally with salt and pepper. Wrap each artichoke properly in foil. |
Done | Place the artichokes over less heated parts of the grill. Cover and grill it for 45 minutes; set aside for 5 minutes. Get rid of the foil, and squeeze the juice of the remaining lemon over artichokes; then, it's ready to be served. |
