Ingredients
- 8 whole Chicken leg quarters
- Salt
- freshly Ground black pepper
- 2 cups of Homemade BBQ Sauce
- 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
- 3/4 cup chopped Yellow onion
- 2 tablespoons chopped Garlic
- 4 cups Ketchup
- 1/2 cup packed Dark brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Cane syrup
- 1/2 cup Cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 3 tablespoons Red hot sauce
- 2 tablespoons Yellow mustard
- 2 tablespoons Creole Seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed Red Peppers

It’s time for you to enjoy a crispy glazed chicken at home. This grilled BBQ chicken is simple to make. Tender, deeply coated in a sweet homemade barbecue sauce that adds great flavor to every bite. You won’t stop making these once you try this recipe.

Homemade Grilled Barbecue Chicken

Steps
1 Done | Preheat a grill to medium-low, and brush the grate with oil. |
2 Done | Season both sides of the chicken legs with salt and pepper. |
3 Done | Place the chicken on the grill, skin side down, and cook for 15 minutes while occasionally turning until halfway cooked. |
4 Done | Use a basting brush to brush the chicken legs with the barbecue sauce and continue to cook while turning the pieces frequently and reapplying barbecue sauce whenever you turn the chicken. |
5 Done | Cook for 15 – 20 minutes until it is cooked through and the instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part registers 160° to 165°F. |
6 Done | Heat the oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. |
7 Done | Add the onion, and stir for 4 minutes. |
8 Done | Add the garlic, cook stir for 1 minute. Add all the remaining ingredients, and bring to a boil. |
9 Done | Lower the heat to a simmer and cook for another 15 to 20 minutes while occasionally stirring until the sauce has thickened. |
10 Done | Remove from the heat and set aside to cool. |
11 Done | Add the sauce on top of the chicken and serve immediately. |
