Ingredient: Avocado oil

Avocado Oil is an oil extracted from the pulp of avocados and is either consumed raw or used for cooking.

It is often used in the same manner as virgin olive oil because of its ability to retain the green color and the nutty flavor of the fruit it is extracted from.

Avocado oil is highly nutritious, rich in healthy fats and vitamin E. It goes well with lemon juice, and the blend is used to make salad dressing, mixed with Dijon mustard and garlic; and to make mayonnaise mixed with egg yolks and sea salt.

You can also blend it with vinegar to make a vinaigrette, mixed with lime juice, balsamic and black pepper, for example, which can be employed to marinade meats and vegetables before grilling.

Avocado oil is also valuable for making pesto, salmon, bell pepper sauce, hummus, cauliflower rice, quinoa salad, fried eggs, shrimp tacos, tortellini soup, or baking desserts like pumpkin apple muffins and chocolate cake.

Unopened, an avocado oil bottle would last for 12 months and can be kept in the pantry.

Once the bottle is opened, avocado oil would last for 6 to 8 months at room temperature, but its shelf life can extend to 9 to 12 months if it is stored in the fridge.
